Resize & Repurpose · Adapt (Image) + Video Reframe (Video)

One upload. Every size your platforms need.

Stop hand-cropping the same asset ten times. Adapt turns one image into every platform size you need, 16 sizes across 27 real placements, generated together. Video Reframe does the same for footage, tracking your subject scene-by-scene instead of blindly cropping the center. Pick your sizes, pick a strategy, generate once.

What is SparkStation's Resize & Repurpose? Two connected tools, one job: get a single asset into every size a platform actually needs, without a manual crop pass. Adapt takes an image and generates it across 16 sizes covering 27 real platform placements, Stories and Shorts, square feed posts, LinkedIn and Pinterest formats, even standard display-ad banners, using either generative canvas extension or a smart crop, anchored to wherever the subject sits. Video Reframe does the video-side equivalent: upload a 16:9 landscape source and get it reframed into vertical, square and portrait cuts, with a per-scene subject-tracking pass instead of a fixed center crop.
How it works

Same shape, two tools: sizes, strategy, generate.

Adapt and Video Reframe are separate tools because a still image and a moving one need different logic, but the workflow is the same shape both times.

1

Upload your source

A single image for Adapt, or a 16:9 landscape video (MP4, MOV, WEBM) for Video Reframe.

2

Pick your sizes

Multi-select from a real size grid, or hit Select all to generate every platform size in one pass.

3

Choose a strategy

Extend canvas or Smart crop for images; Adaptive or Locked center tracking for video.

4

Generate

Every selected size comes back from one generation, no manual crop per platform.

Selected sizes show a running count above the generation step, so it's always clear how many of the 16 you've queued up before you upload a source image.

🎯 Image · Method & Focus

Extend the Canvas, or Crop It, Your CallStep 3 · Adaptation Method, Step 4 · Subject Focus

Before Adapt generates anything, two choices decide how each new size gets built: whether to grow the canvas or trim it, and where the important part of the image actually sits.

Adaptation method
Extend canvas
Default

Keeps 100% of the original image intact and generatively fills in new content on the sides that need to grow. Best when nothing in the source can be lost, logos, full-body shots, key text.

Best for: brand assets, product shots, anything with text or a logo near the edge
Smart crop
Alternative

Trims the source down to fit the new ratio instead of extending it. The live product didn't have this option selected in the screenshot supplied, so its exact behavior isn't detailed here beyond being the crop-based counterpart to Extend canvas.

Best for: source images with safe margin to spare around the subject
Subject focus

"Where's the main subject in the source image? Every adaptation uses this to decide what to keep centered.", copy from the live product.

Track the Subject Scene-by-Scene, or Lock to CenterCrop Mode + Diagnostic preview

A photo has one subject position for the whole image. A video's subject can move from one side of the frame to the other between scenes, which is why Video Reframe's crop-mode choice looks different from Adapt's Left/Center/Right focus.

Crop mode
Adaptive
Default

Per-scene subject tracking, a vision pass follows what matters in the frame as the video cuts from scene to scene, instead of assuming the subject stays in one place.

Best for: footage where the subject moves across the frame or between scenes
Locked center
Faster, fixed

A simple center crop, with no vision pass. Faster to generate, but doesn't adjust if the subject isn't centered in every scene.

Best for: static or already-centered shots, or when speed matters more than tracking accuracy
Diagnostic preview
🔍

Show detection overlay for QA, not for delivery

A toggle, off by default in the live product, that overlays what the Adaptive tracking pass is detecting so you can check its work before committing to a final render, a QA aid, not something meant to ship in the delivered video.

Why it works better

Resizing by hand means ten exports and ten guesses. This is one.

Manually resizing one hero asset for every platform means opening it in an editor, guessing at what to crop, and repeating that for every single size, and a plain crop clips whatever sits outside the frame.

✕ Manual resizing, platform by platform
  • One export per size, repeated by hand for every platform
  • A fixed crop clips logos, text or a subject that sits near the edge
  • No sense of which sizes actually map to which real platform placements
  • Video crops assume the subject stays put for the whole clip
  • Easy to lose track of which sizes are done and which aren't
✓ SparkStation Resize & Repurpose
  • Select all 16 image sizes or every video target size, generated together
  • Extend canvas grows the frame instead of clipping what's already there
  • 27 real platform placements mapped to real sizes, not guessed at
  • Adaptive crop mode tracks the subject scene-by-scene in video
  • A running selected-sizes count keeps the batch visible before you generate
Who it's for

Anyone repurposing one asset across more than one platform.

📣

Social & marketing teams

Turn one campaign image or one edited video into every native size a channel plan actually calls for, without a design ticket per platform.

🏢

Agencies

Standardize how client assets get repurposed across accounts, the same size grid and strategy choices, every time, instead of ad hoc crops per project.

🎥

Video editors & creators

Cut once in 16:9, then reframe for Shorts, Reels, TikTok and Stories with a tracking pass that follows the subject instead of a blind center crop.

Answers

Resize & Repurpose, in brief.

What is SparkStation's Resize & Repurpose?

Resize & Repurpose is two connected tools for getting one asset into every size a platform needs. Adapt handles images, 16 sizes across 27 platform placements from a single upload. Video Reframe handles video, reframing a 16:9 landscape source into vertical, square and portrait cuts. Both use a pick-your-sizes, pick-a-strategy, generate-once workflow instead of a manual crop pass per platform.

What image sizes and platforms does Adapt cover?

Sixteen sizes across 27 platform placements, condensing down to 9 distinct aspect ratios: vertical Stories/Shorts (9:16), square feed posts (1:1), landscape and link-preview formats (16:9 and 1.91:1), portrait feed crops (4:5), Pinterest's tall pin ratio (2:3), and three standard display/programmatic ad banner ratios.

What's the difference between Extend canvas and Smart crop in Adapt?

Extend canvas, the default, keeps 100% of the original image intact and generatively fills in new content on the sides that need to grow, best when nothing in the source can be lost, like a logo, a full-body shot, or key text. Smart crop is the alternative approach, trimming the source down to fit a new ratio instead of extending it.

What is Subject Focus in Adapt?

Subject Focus tells Adapt where the main subject sits in the source image, Left, Center or Right. Every generated size uses this to decide what to keep centered when the canvas is extended or cropped.

What video sizes does Video Reframe generate?

Named target ratios including Vertical Full-Screen (9:16), Tall Portrait (4:5), Square (1:1), Standard Portrait (3:4) and Tall Pin (2:3), with more sizes available in the picker beyond what a single screenshot captured. A Select all control generates every size at once.

What's the difference between Adaptive and Locked center crop modes in Video Reframe?

Adaptive, the default, uses per-scene subject tracking, a vision pass that follows what matters in the frame as the video changes from scene to scene. Locked center applies a simple, fixed center crop with no vision pass, which is faster but doesn't adjust as the subject moves.

What video formats can I upload to Video Reframe?

MP4, MOV or WEBM, and the source must be a 16:9 landscape video, Video Reframe is built to crop and reframe a wide source down into narrower target ratios, not the other way around.

Do I need separate tools for resizing images and video?

They're two tools, Adapt for images, Video Reframe for video, because a still image and a moving one need different reframing logic. But they share the same pick-your-sizes, pick-a-strategy, generate-once workflow, so switching between them doesn't mean learning a new interface.

Ready to stop cropping by hand?

One image or one video, every size your platforms actually need, generated together, not one export at a time.
